Promoting your website
Part 1: From your office
Promoting your new website from your office.
What can you expect once you have a web site? Will I suddenly be inundated with emails and phone calls from people who have seen my website?
In a nutshell - no. We first need to let people know that you have a website, and where they can find it. Read on .......
You have taken the first major step in the right direction by getting a website. Now we need to let people know that you have a website and where it is (its address) - logically, only those that know where it is will be able to find it. So the more people that get told about your site, the more traffic it will get. So how do we do this?
We'll break it down to two areas: - at or from your office, and online.
- Part 1 - From your office (this page)
- Part 2 - Online promotion
The Basics first - at your office
Your company already has a fair bit of printed literature that is issued to clients and prospective clients. Your website should be included on all of these items which include:
- Invoices
- Delivery notes
- Statements
- Compliment slips
- Business cards
- Product specs
- Data sheets
- Pamphlets
- Brochures
- Flyers
- Adverts
- Etc
Basically anything you have printed with your company name must also have your website address included.
Using your outgoing Emails
Whatever email address you were using before you registered your domain name must now take a backseat. Don't get rid of it just yet, you will still get emails from that address for a while.
Make sure you inform everyone about your new email address, and make sure that all emails are sent out from your company using only the new email.
Make sure that every email that is sent out has your "signature", ie your contact details, at the bottom, and that that includes your website address.
Next we will look at online site promotion.
